PAIN MANAGEMENT
LIVE LIFE WITH REDUCED PAIN
Struggling through chronic pain or the side effects of the medication does not have to be a daily activity. Dexter Pharmacy of Plano can offer commercially available medications for pain management as well as customized topical options that can be compounded.
Each person is unique and in similar fashion the pain experienced can be just as diverse. Our pharmacists are here to collaborate with your healthcare provider and prescribe treatments that are tailored for your specific pain management needs. Compounded topical pain formulations offer the benefits of being able to integrate multiple medications, as well as the ability to be able to customize dosage and strength.
CHRONIC PAIN
Pain can occur as a result of injury or as a symptom of disease. It can be short-lived or progress to be chronic and affect day-to-day activities, social life, and work performances too.

At Dexter Pharmacy, we understand that disease severity and symptoms can be as diverse as each person. Our custom compounded medication offers convenience, targeted relief, precise dosages and potentially fewer side effects.
CUSTOM PAIN MANAGEMENT
Pain medications can be formulated just for you and are:
Specifically pain is the most common cause for someone to seek treatment. Chronic pain is pain that has persisted for at least 3 months, and in 2016, it was estimated that 20.4% of the U.S. population suffered this constant pain (to emphasize, that’s over 65 million people!).
It can affect everyday activities, such as social life, and work performances. It is common for people with chronic pain to have problems with sleep, appetite, concentration, and mobility. Higher severity of pain can restrict major activities, such as working outside the house and doing household chores. As a result, these restrictions can lead to higher levels of anxiety, depression, fatigue and cognitive difficulty.
While many disorders that cause pain have no cure, there are treatment options available that treat the underlying medical condition responsible for pain. These chronic pain treatments aim to improve mobility and maintain the quality of life.

There are several pain relievers on the market to help with conditions but many can lead to unwanted side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, or stomach irritation. These mass-produced pain relievers are based on an “average patient” and do not take into account your specific needs or symptoms.
Once working with your provider, our pharmacists may be able to provide alternative relief with pain medication that will better address what is needed for your body.
